In order to ensure that your vehicle is transported safely securely and will arrive at its destination with the least possible risk of damage, the following precautions should be taken. These are by no means conditions for transportation, but only sound advice.

1.  PREPARING YOUR VEHICLE FOR AUTO SHIPPING
Wash the vehicle for accurate inspection.

Make sure the vehicle is free of personal items for stress free auto shipping.De-activate the alarm system.Make sure there is no more than 1/4 tank of gas, the car carrier is weighed at every state line; being overweight can cause delivery delays and fines.
Secure or remove any loose parts or specialty items such as ground effects, spoilers, fog lights, or wide mirrors, lower or remove the antennae. Secure any tears or open seams on convertible tops to prevent fast-moving air from causing further damage. Make sure the radiator has adequate levels of fresh antifreeze.Be sure that the battery is secure and has no leaks.

2.
  LEGAL ISSUES

Before you place your car transport order with any company, insist on seeing a copy of their auto transport  "Terms and Conditions" from the back page of their Bill of Lading, (see the small print). It is a good idea see the Bill of Lading legal terms of the auto transporter or broker of auto transportation before you  book your order and place your deposit, not at the point of Pick up! We provide full disclosure of our terms and conditions because we feel that an educated auto moving customer is a satisfied customer.

3. VEHICLE INSPECTIONS

Be sure you wash your car before the car shipping pick up appointment. The original Bill of Lading is a record of the inspection of your car at pick up; it is to be signed by both you and the driver after the inspection. At the car shipping delivery, the car is inspected again by the driver with you or your agent, both parties sign again, noting if there are any changes. If there is a damage, it must be noted on the car shipping delivery Bill of Lading before you sign. Any claim must then be filed within 2 weeks. In the event of a damage, you must complete the payment of your auto shipping COD at delivery and then send your request for claim application.

4. ESTIMATED PICK UP AND DELIVERY DATE WINDOWS

Due to the state by state taxation and inspections on car carrier transportation and the stringent auto shipping safety laws of the Department of Transportation governing the specifics and peculiarities of auto shipping, auto moving, auto transport, car shipping, car moving, car transport, auto relocation and vehicle transportation, exact pick ups and deliveries can not be guaranteed; if a company leads you to believe that they will pick up or deliver on an exact date, you could be in for a disappointment. The truth is that though pick up and delivery can be estimated within the quoted two to three day windows at both ends of the auto transport process, so many variables out of the control of the truck driver can affect the time schedule. We have found that the car transport pick up and delivery estimated windows hold true on 80% to 95% of the car transport orders. We would rather tell you that before you book with JTML. Please see our Free Quote page.

5. DOOR TO DOOR
Door to door
means the driver will get as close to your door as he can legally and safely get. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from driving into some residential areas. Transport trucks are 70-75 foot long, and need lots of room to maneuver and turn around, so if access to your home is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may ask that you meet the truck at a large parking lot nearby, such as a grocery store, school, or shopping mall.
